ZoneMapper is a free, browser-based zoning site plan tool. This page explains what information is collected when you use zonemapper.app, and what stays only on your device.
What stays on your device
Your map files, drawings, lot boundaries, setbacks, annotations, and exports are processed entirely in your browser. They are not uploaded to ZoneMapper servers. We do not store your property plans or project files.
What we collect
We use a small number of third-party tools to keep the product working and improve it:
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymous usage analytics and session replay (for example, which pages people visit and how they interact with the site). This helps us find usability problems. It does not receive your map files or drawings.
- Sentry — anonymous error reports, performance traces, logs, and occasional session replays when something goes wrong. This helps us diagnose bugs. It does not receive your map files or drawings.
Optional parcel lookup
If you use the optional “look up parcel by address” feature, the address you type (and its coordinates) is sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim, the FCC Census Block API, and your county’s public GIS parcel server so we can fetch a public parcel boundary. Map files and drawings are still not sent.
Accounts and cookies
ZoneMapper does not require an account. Core drawing and export features work without signing in. Third-party analytics and error monitoring may set their own cookies or similar identifiers; they are not required for the app’s core functionality.
Third-party services
- Microsoft Clarity
- Sentry
- Optional parcel lookup: OpenStreetMap Nominatim, FCC Census API, and county GIS services
Those services have their own privacy policies. We only use them for the purposes described above.
